About Keystone STARS
Pennsylvania’s Keystone STARS program is designed to measure and improve the quality of early childhood programs through…
Standards
Training/Professional Development
Assistance,
Resources and
Support
Keystone STARS is a voluntary program that goes above and beyond the requirements of standard child care certification. So, while it’s not required, participation in the program speaks volumes about an organization’s commitment to providing an exemplary early education experience.
Participating child care and early education programs can earn a rating of STAR 1 through STAR 4. This is done by meeting key performance standards in the following areas…
• Staff Qualifications and Professional Development
• Learning Program (Curriculum, Classroom Environment, etc.)
• Partnerships with Families and Communities
• Leadership and Management
Each STARS level builds on the one prior, with each introducing a higher set of performance standards.
