Tender Years is Going PINK!
On Friday, October 20, 2023, Tender Years is going PINK to help local breast cancer patients, and we need YOUR help!
It’s easy! All you need to do is wear something pink and stop in to any one of our centers on the 20th.
For each and every person who visits any of our locations in pink, we’re donating $1.00 to Pink Hands of Hope in Mechanicsburg. This includes parents, students, staff, and anyone else who wants to stop by while wearing something pink.
About Pink Hands of Hope
Based in Mechanicsburg, PA, Pink Hands of Hope is a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that assists breast cancer patients in a variety of ways. They strive to make the journey for patients and their families easier by providing various products and services at no cost. This includes providing items such as wigs, caps, clothing, shawls, knitted knockers, and more.
From giving patients a sense of hope to helping their families through the holidays with programs like “Gifts of Hope”, Pink Hands of Hope has helped hundreds of breast cancer patients throughout Central PA. That’s why we’re proud to support them. Plus, we love knowing that our donation will help women in our own community.
We’re proud to support them, and we love knowing that our donation will help local women.
Breast Cancer Touches Nearly Everyone In Some Way
According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, one woman out of eight will receive a breast cancer diagnosis during her lifetime. When you also consider the impact that this terrible disease has on those who know and love a family member, friend or coworker with it, nearly no one is immune.
Even here at Tender Years, the affects of breast cancer were felt deeply when our Founder, Betty Krebs came face to face with it. She had this to share. . .
“I went for my routine mammogram in October 2013 and was told I had breast cancer. The diagnosis was a complete shock, as I felt fine. Even looking back, there was no indication that I was sick, but I was lucky because the cancer was caught early. I had surgery that November, and I am cancer-free today. My prognosis could have been much worse had I skipped that mammogram. Early detection is key to a successful outcome and I encourage all women to have their annual mammogram.”
See You On The 20th… In PINK!
Please help us as we support a wonderful local organization in our support of breast cancer patients. Simply show up on Friday, October 20th, at any of our centers, sporting something pink. It’s just that easy to show your support!
Thank you!
