On Friday, October 23rd, Tender Years is going PINK to help local breast cancer patients, and we need YOUR help!
It’s easy! All you need to do is wear something pink when you visit one of our child development centers on the 23rd.
We’re donating $1.00 to Pink Hands of Hope for each person who visits us in pink. This includes parents, students, staff, and anyone else who wants to stop by while wearing something pink.
Based in Mechanicsburg, PA, Pink Hands of Hope is a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that assists breast cancer patients in a variety of ways. We’re proud to support them, and we love knowing that our donation will help local women.
According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, one woman out of eight will receive a breast cancer diagnosis during her lifetime. When you also consider the impact that this terrible disease has on those who know and love a family member, friend or coworker with it, nearly no one is immune.
Even here at Tender Years, the affects of breast cancer were felt deeply when our President & Founder, Betty Krebs came face to face with it. She had this to share. . .
“I went for my routine mammogram in October 2013 and was told I had breast cancer. The diagnosis was a complete shock, as I felt fine. Even looking back, there was no indication that I was sick, but I was lucky because the cancer was caught early. I had surgery last November and am cancer free today. My prognosis could have been much worse had I skipped that mammogram. Early detection is key to a successful outcome and I encourage all women to have their annual mammogram.”
Last year, we managed to raise hundreds of dollars for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Please help us once again as this time we support a wonderful local organization in our support of breast cancer patients. Simply show up on Friday, October 23rd, at any of our centers, sporting something pink. It’s just that easy to show your support!
Thank you! We look forward to seeing you in pink on the 23rd!!!
