Celebrating 35 Years of Excellence in Early Education
Happy 35th!
At Tender Years, we’re proud to be celebrating our 35th anniversary this month! Founded in 1984 by Betty L. Krebs, our family-owned and operated business has recently commemorated this important milestone with events for both our staff and our families. With those things just behind us, we would like to take a moment to highlight some of our team’s achievements over the years.
After 35 years in business, we certainly have some impressive statistics to underscore. More than 8,450 students have attended our early childhood education programs. Our students have taken more than 2400 field trips, eaten more than 18,000 meals, and read more than 1 million story books. Our company’s impact has also reached well beyond the families we have served. Employing hundreds of teachers and childcare staff through the years (our current staff consists of 90 people), working with local vendors, attractions and more, it’s estimated that Tender Years has contributed more than $65 million to the local economy!
From humble beginnings in the basement of a Camp Hill church, Tender Years has grown to three state-of-the-art centers serving Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg and Hershey, with future centers on the horizon. In addition to being licensed by the PA Department of Human Services (DHS) and accredited by the PA Department of Education, our centers have earned 27 awards for excellence and carry the highest ratings from the Keystone STARS Quality Initiative Program.
While we are proud of the organization we’ve built and all that we’ve accomplished, we can honestly say that it has always been a team effort. Our employees, including our directors, teachers and support staff, have all played a critical role in the success of Tender Years. We can’t highlight our achievements without giving credit to all the fantastic people we’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years. To them, we say, THANK YOU for making Tender Years the success it is today!
Here’s to another 35 years!
